A centre court player with local club Pine Hill Buddy Pak Mitres, Sandy embarked on a four-year basketball scholarship, spending her first two years at the Clarendon College in Texas.

There she gained an Associate Degree in Sociology.

It was the realisation of a dream for Sandy, who was born in Georgetown but grew up in Sion Hill and who received most of her primary education at the Sion Hill Government School.

Her secondary education was at the Intermediate High School.

Sandy was a regular selectee at the National Under -23 netball level before working her way up to senior representation.

She was summoned home last March to help this country’s netball team at the Commonwealth Games in Australia.

Sandy credits President of the St. Vincent and the Grenadines Basketball Federation Wayne Williams for making her scholarship possible.

Still in search of higher educational achievements, Sandy is seeking an extension on her scholarship so that shecan pursue a Master’s Degree in Education.
