Agriculture Minister produces in 20/20

The Masters 20/20 Cricket Tournament is attracting combatants from across the board. That was proven last weekend with Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries Minister Montgomery Daniel in action. Daniel, the North Windward Parliamentarian, contributed handsomely to his team, North Windward Combined Masters, albeit to a losing cause. North Windward scored 112 in 18.5 overs. Daniel showed good craftsmanship with a polished 52.{{more}}

Augustus Mofford, 4 for 25 from four overs, was the destroyer of the North Windward innings. Mofford grafted his way to the Man of the Match Award with a knock of 33, as P’tani cruised to 115 for two from 16 overs.

Alfred Mc Kenzie, 57 not out, also contributed to the P’tani cause.

Pat Warner, 5 for 22 from four overs, steered C.K. Greaves Vintage Arnos Vale to a four-wicket win over Stubbs. He took the Man of the Match Award. He helped dismiss Stubbs Masters for 62 all out.

Noel Jack, 23, was the top scorer for Stubbs. Arnos Vale replied with 65 for 6 from 15.1 overs. Former Windwards all-rounder Monty Warner, 22, led the scoring for Arnos Vale.

This game was played at the North Union Playing Field.

Belfongo Masters, 160 for 9 from 20 overs, made light work of Police Masters. Theodore Huggins, 37, was the chief run-getter for Belfongo. Elvis Browne, 3 for 24 from four overs, was the pick of the bowlers for Police.

Police Masters replied with 57 all out. Gosnel Cupid, 41, was the dominant force for the lawmen.

Junior Bacchus, 5 for 24 from three overs, was the chief wicket taker for Belfongo, a performance that gave him the Man of the Match Award.

Ajuba Masters took care of Barrouallie Masters at Keartons Playing Field. Abuja knocked up 197 for 9 from 20 overs. Lennox Douglas, 51 not out, was in good form for Ajuba, in a display that earned him the Man of the Match Award. The consistent David Porter-Ellis, 35, supported him.

Vibert Bute, 5 for 45, was the main wicket-taker for Barrouallie.

Barrouallie Masters folded for 121 all out in 18 overs. Chester Hendrickson, 47 not out, was the main stay of the Barrouallie innings.

Reginald Jeffery, 3 for 21, did the damage for Ajuba.

P. H. Veira Kingstown Masters did not turn up for their encounter against Mr. Cool Veterans.
