Boxing fraternity mourns Scott’s loss

The St. Vincent and the Grenadines Amateur Boxing Association has paid tribute to former Boxing Coach Jimmy Scott. According to the Association, Scott was instrumental in reorganising the sport here in 1985.

Present National Coach Cavanaugh Gumbs described Scott as “inspiring, motivating and disciplined.”

“He always had a humourous personality and showed love to his athletes,” Gumbs said.

Scott secured medals for his athletes at Organisation of Eastern Caribbean States tournaments as well as at other friendlies.

One of his highlights was taking the national team to the Pan American Games in 1998.
