Semi finalists emerging in 20/20 cricket tourney

Records continue to be established in the inaugural Neil Williams 20/20 cricket competition.

Hard-hitting opener Delroy Johnson added his name to the list, scoring the first century.

The burly Johnson struck 105 not out as ECGC Radcliffe posted 194 for 3 in their 20 overs against Brownstown. Drumo Toney 26 not out and Olando Browne also 26 were the contributors.

Brownstown fell for 91, as Dyke Cato 3 for 14 and Toney 2 for 11, ensured Radcliffe’s victory.{{more}}

This win fortified Radcliffe’s position as one of the semi-finalists likely to emerge from group 1.

But it was group 2 front-runners Police two that confirmed their semi final berth with two wins over the weekend.

First they defeated Vincom Numbgerz by 65 runs.

Police cracked 165 for 6, with Salvan Browne hitting 75 and Parnell Browne 35. Donwell Hector took 3 for 21.Numbergz responded with 100.The consistent Elmore Alexander 3 for 12 and Parnell Browne also with similar figures.

Police Two’s second win came against Victors one.

Police made 24 for 8. Oneil Thomas 31 and Parnell Browne 24 were the leading scorers. Danson Andrews returned with figures of 2 for 30.

When Victors One batted, they fell at 105, short by 19 runs. Keiron Cottoy top scored with 42, as Alexander was again with the wickets with 3 for 18 and Parnell Browne 2 for 28.

In the other match where there was play, MVC Rivals defeated Belmont by 49 runs.

Deighton Butler 66 and Orlanzo Jackson 36 were the main contributors as Rivals reached 180 for 8. Rivals’ wickets were shared by Jerome Samuel 4 for 40 and Curtis King 3 for 33.

Belmont scored 131 as Butler 3 for 23 and Jackson 2 for 11 cut through their batting.

The other scheduled matches saw Victors Two winning by default over Eat Rite Saints and Unique Warriors achieving the same result over HMP Stars.
