St. Vincent and the Grenadines will not be at the 2006 Fifa World Cup. Like most of the Caribbean, Vincentians’ support will be for their regional counterparts Trinidad and Tobago.

Vincentians will have some thing of which to be proud as far as the World Cup is concerned.

Mark Cyrus, a music producer for the past 15 years, has been given some recognition.{{more}}

The song ‘Sweet Soca music,” sung by members of Trinidad and Tobago’s Soca Warriors has been given a touch of Vincentian mastery.

The track for the rendition, done as part of Fifa’s album, designed to highlight this year’s mascot Goleo VI was produced at the Master Room Studio at Botanic Gardens in Kingstown.

The song, done in Ragga Soca style is three minutes two seconds long. Cyrus, son of distinguished surgeon Dr. Cecil Cyrus was contacted through a Record Company Executive in Germany.

Cyrus reflected on the accomplishment when contacted in Kingstown last Wednesday.

The T&T presentation is part of Fifa’s efforts towards ensuring a musical production representing the 32 nations in Germany.
