According to Louise Finnegan, Digicel Group Head of Sponsorship, the Windies cricketers have demonstrated admirable determination and fixity of purpose in their mission against India. “We at Digicel have never doubted the greatness of the West Indian cricket team. Our support for them has been unwavering and we knew it would only be a matter of time before they reclaim their natural birthright. That we are happy and proud is an understatement,” Finnegan said.

“We would also like to congratulate team captain Brian Lara, for the leadership role he has been playing in the transformation of the Windies team. Lara and his team have greatly inspired and united the region during this tour. We look forward to witnessing the continuous rise of the West Indies team.” We are also proud of the impressive strides Ramnaresh Sarwan who has been named Man of the Series has been making. We look forward to more great things from this promising cricketer,” Finnegan said.

The Windies v India ODIs were replete with Windies milestone moments. The elegant right-hand batsman Ramnaresh Sarwan scored one century and came close on another occasion; the ebullient

all-rounder Dwayne Bravo scored two vital half-centuries in the last two matches and snared

wickets at key times – who can forget that victory in the second ODI? Chris Gayle in typical commanding form gained for himself, third spot on the coveted list of most one-day centuries behind Desmond Haynes and Brian Lara.
