Schools to benefit from Cuban training

Vincentian secondary schools may soon benefit from the expertise of Cuban physical education teachers in the disciplines of basketball and track and field.

A request for these teachers was made by the Ministry of Sports at the 5th meeting of the St Vincent and the Grenadines/ Cuba joint commission that took place at the conference room of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs on May 18 and 19.{{more}}

The Ministry of Sports also requested assistance with the development of volleyball and boxing, a sport for which Cubans are well known. The ministry is also hoping to tap into their Cuban counterparts’ knowledge in the areas of sports and facilities management.

The Cuban delegates also reissued an invitation that was extended by the Cuban Government for the Minister of Sports to visit Cuba for the purpose of concluding a Bilateral sporting agreement.
