Slater wins MVP award

Junior Sportsman of the Year Shane Slater picked up another accolade at the end of year Awards Dinner for the Franklin and Marshall College men’s squash team. Afterclose voting by his teammates, he was awarded the John Pittenger Award for Most Valuable Player for the 2005-2006.

The 17-year old baby of the team posted a 14-9 record in his freshman year, contributing to each of the team’s 14 wins in its own 14-9 record. The other awardees were senior Evan Burton, winner of the team’s Most Improved Player award and sophomore Jehangir Aibara, who earned the Jess Berline Sportsmanship award for the 2nd year in a row.
