Sports calendar launched for OECS

Vincentian Tourism, Sports, and Youth Minister Glen Beache would have been happier if cricket and football competitions were included in the 2006 OECS Sport Calendar.

Beache made his feelings known when OECS Sports coordinator David Peterkin presented the newest agenda.{{more}}

Beache, the SouthWindward parliamentary representative, stated that football is the most popular sport in the sub-region, but that there had been no football competition carded.

St. Vincent and the Grenadines stages the Junior squash championship April 21 to 23 as part of the OECS itinerary.

Cycling is also scheduled for St. Vincent June 4 to 6 as well as the Milo Junior Invitational Tennis tournament set for December.
