Kai Best is SVG’s top junior sailor

Kai Best was the top sailor in the St. Vincent Yacht Club first ever Independence Junior Sailing Regatta held on Sunday, October 30.

Under near perfect sailing conditions, the youngsters raced short windward and leeward legs using the entire fleet of Optimist Sailing dinghies. {{more}}There was fierce competition for the top places in the first four races in the morning session with Julian Truchot and Kai Best always in the top two positions.

The afternoon session saw significant improvements in performance from Rhys Cain who was first in race six and second in race seven and Michelle Gun Munro with a third in race six and a fourth in race seven.

All competitors received certificates of merit, while medals were presented to the top three: Kai Best – gold, Julian Truchot – silver and Rhys Cain – bronze.
