Kenroy Peters reaps success in England

Kenroy Peters, who played for the West Indies ‘A’ Team in Sri Lanka earlier this year, has taken that outing as a learning experience. Peters, from the North Central Windward district of South Rivers has been carving out a reputation.

A left-handed seam bowler and dependable lower order right hand batsman, Peters is anxious to build on his Sri Lankan exposure.{{more}}

“It was a learning experience. It gave me an opportunity to see where my game is at… my strengths and my weaknesses, and things I need to work on,” Peters said.

He was among the squad preparing for the Windwards Three-Day and One-Day tournaments in St. Lucia starting Sunday September 18.

A Windwards squad will be chosen for the regional One-Day tournament starting October 3 in Barbados.

Peters expressed satisfaction with his returns on his recent English sojourn. He helped his Club Vickerston, in the Lancashire Cumbria League, to share the top spot with Penriff Cricket Club.

The former West Indies Under-19 player reflected on his contribution this season with pride. His team specially honoured him. He played 21 games, scored 759 runs at an average of 69.34. His best score was 72, and had ten scores over fifty.

Peters also picked 62 wickets, at 9.24 runs per wicket. His best figures were 7 for 11, including a hattrick.

Four weeks in succession, Peters was named Cricketer of the Week.

He cited promising young English players to look forward to, and remarked on his interaction with other professionals from Sri Lanka, Australia, and South Africa.

Peters has aroused the interest of other English Clubs. But his focus is to come good for St. Vincent and the Grenadines, and maintain his form for the Windwards.
