Women’s cricket bowls off at last

After some uncertainty surrounding the staging of the Senior West Indies women’s Cricket Tournament, the fixtures have been released.

Defending League champion St. Vincent and the Grenadines begins their defense of the title with a match against St. Lucia at Arnos Vale One tomorrow Saturday. Guyana takes on Trinidad and Tobago in Saturday’s other match.{{more}}

The action continues on Sunday with Trinidad and Tobago and Barbados in action at Arnos Vale.

St. Lucia and Guyana will be engaged in battle at Stubbs. St. Vincent and the Grenadines play Guyana again at Arnos Vale One Monday August 22, while Barbados and St. Lucia will be locked in battle at Stubbs.

The action resumes Wednesday with SVG taking Barbados while Trinidad and Tobago will be in a showdown at Arnos Vale two. The league segment winds up Thursday, August 25, when SVG plays Trinidad and Tobago at Arnos Vale One, while Guyana plays Barbados at Arnos Vale Two.

There would hardly be a respite for the teams as they move into the Knock Out version starting Friday, August 26, The Fourth and Fifth placed teams play that first match which will serve as the semifinal qualifier.

The winner of that match advances to play the League winner Saturday, August 27, while second place and third place in the League meet in the other semifinal match.

The winners progress to the final at Arnos Vale One Sunday, August 28.
