But his efforts were not enough to put his club into the final. M K Land ended in third position in group A, behind Selangor and Kedah F.C.

Selangor copped the title, beating group B winner Negeri Sembilan 4-2 last weekend in the final.

James, who has spent two seasons playing in Malaysia, is looking for other avenues to ply his trade.

He returned two weeks ago, foregoing his participation in the Malaysian Cup.

His hastened return was to finalize plans to head out again; this time to either Hong Kong or Australia.

James said that his club is privately owned and the owner’s focus was winning the premiership.

He said on advice from MK Land’s coach, he thought it best to explore other alternatives.

“I have different offers and I am looking at the best one,” James revealed.

His checkered football career has seen him previously playing in Portugal and Trinidad and Tobago, before moving to Malaysia, which turned out to be his most stable and lucrative.

James, who was MK Land’s captain for the 2005 season, has opened up the Malaysian market for two other national players-Cornelius Huggins and Shandell Samuel.

Huggins is in his second season with Kedah F.C, while Samuel only spent four months on the Kedah roster.

Samuel returned to St. Vincent and the Grenadines last month.
