Central Windward takes Under-15 title

Central Windward are the 2005 Under-15 Cricket champions. They earned the title with a comfortable 78 run victory over South/Central Leeward last week Friday.

If there were to have been a Man of the Match award, Jerome Jack would have been in high contention. He scored an unbeaten 24, as his team Central Windward rallied to 125 for 8 off their allotted 25 overs. Richie Richards 24 was also among the runs for Central windward. {{more}}

Desron “Scientist” Richardson, 5 for 18, was the main wicket-taker for South/Central Leeward combination.

South/Central Leeward faded for 46 off 12.2 overs. They were routed by Jack 4 for 13, and Richie Richards, 2 for 2.

The match came off in low-keyed fashion at the Arnos Vale two Playing Field. There was no spectator following, and the match hardly generated an atmosphere of intensity.

Interest in the affair appeared rather lack-lustre and the entire scenario lacked the proper setting encouraging for youngsters to keep up an interest in the sport.
