The National Olympic Committee (NOC) facilitated the course on behalf of the local table tennis body.

General Secretary of the NOC Keith Joseph announced the conclusion of the agreement last week Wednesday. He disclosed that the four-month programme would cost US$20,000.

Joseph said that Dawalty’s terms of reference include, the development of a coaching programme and caravan; the establishment of a Table Tennis coaches’ Association, and broaden the reach of Table Tennis in St. Vincent and the Grenadines.

Joseph is hopeful that Dawlatly will put a plan of action in motion to make good this country’s participation at the 2007 PANAM Games in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil and the 2008 Olympic Games scheduled for Beijing, China.

Head of the St. Vincent and the Grenadines Table Tennis Association, Sean Stanley said his organisation would endeavour to make the best use of Dawlatly’s tenure. Stanley, who also is this country’s national coach, will work along with the Egyptian.

Previous national associations that benefited were SVG Amateur Athletics Association renamed Team SVG Athletics and the SVG Basketball Association.
