First division on home stretch

The Bottlers First Division of the National cricket competition gets some focus this weekend when Vincom Numbgerz and Unique Warriors meet in the final. This is carded for the Arnos Vale One playing field.

Both teams earned their places with victories last weekend.{{more}}

Numbgerz took first innings at the expense of Log Masters. Having posted 118,Numbgerz dismissed Log Masters for 99. Jamal Ash (31) was the main contributor in Numbgerz’s total. The evergreen Lynton Greaves grabbed 4 for 22, bowling for Log Masters.

Former St. Vincent and the Grenadines medium pacer, Elvis Browne hit 30 and Urias King 22 in a losing effort.

Coombs crowned off a good outing with 4 for 29, to follow on his 19 with the bat. Kesworth Lewis supported with 2 for 15,Kevin Abraham 2 for 21 and Daron Russell 2 for 28.

Unique Warriors had a six-wicket win over Kayous. Kayous scored 164 and 108; Unique Warriors 176 and 98 for 4.

The two losing semi-finalists will meet this weekend at Sion Hill Playing field in the third-place play off.

The local cricket association has made provision for another weekend, to ensure completion of the final.

Previously, the Bottlers First Division was played on a round robin format.
