Squash players in the Organisation of Eastern Caribbean States (OECS) are looking forward to the Caribbean Championships scheduled for Bermuda August 5. {{more}}
Vincentian James Bentick made a bid for a spot when he took the Menâs Division for the third consecutive year. Bentick beat St Luciaâs Charlie Sonson in the final, while Carl Nasif Dominicaâs placed third.
It was the reverse in the Womenâs Division as St. Luciaâs Allana Simmons outplayed Vincentian Sherian Slater in the final. Lily Bergasse of St Lucia placed third.
The senior menâs title went to St Vincent and the Grenadinesâ Colin Alexander, while BVIâs Neville Sorrentino was second. Dominicaâs Patrick Martin took third place.
Sherian Slater beat fellow Vincentian Vonnie Roudette for the Senior womenâs title with Cheryl Renwick of St. Lucia taking third place.
The OECS Senior Squash Individual and Team events came off here at the recently re-built Squash courts in Kingstown. British Virgin Islands, Dominica, and St Lucia joined host country St Vincent and the Grenadines in the championships.
