Teams compete for premier division cricket title

The title chase for the RBTT national premier division cricket champions, goes down to the wire this weekend.

The script could not have been written better. Four teams bunched at the top are in with a chance to lift the 2005 trophy and an increased cash prize.{{more}}

Defending champion Victors One heads the table with 56 points, meets third place Police Two .The law officers sit on 42 points. An outright win by Police can see them receiving the crowning glory.

Both teams meet at Arnos Vale II.

The other match pits current second place team MVC Rivals against News Spartans at the Sion Hill Playing Field. Rivals is in hot pursuit of Victors on 52 points, while Spartans has 41 points.

The Semi-finals in the Bottlers Ju-c First Division are set also for this weekend.Zone A winner Unique Warriors plays Kayous at Buccament ,with Vincom Numbergz facing Log Masters at Stubbs.

The final of the first division is scheduled for June 18 and 19.

This year’s early completion of the national cricket competition is a great improvement on previous years, when the end came as late as October.
