Grenadines Basketball ends this Sunday

The 2005 Sprite Grenadines Basketball competition ends this Sunday night at the Clive Tannis Hard Court in Bequia.

Sunday’s closing and final culminates a packed weekend of action.{{more}}

Tonight the last preliminary matches will be contested.

The first of the double header pit last year’s winner Union Island against reigning Northern Grenadine champion Mustique Icon, followed by Bequia All Stars versus Canouan Islanders.

The semi-finals are slated for Saturday and the first match sees the first place from the preliminary, meeting the fourth place. The night will be capped off with the second and third place teams vying for a final berth.

Apart from walking away with the top team prize, individuals will seek to be among the awardees.

Up for grabs are prizes for the most points, most rebounds, most steals, most assists and most block shots.

Each team will be rewarded with an MVP prize, with the major overall Most Valuable Award for the taking .The winning coach will be among those going to the podium to receive a prize.

Trophies for the competition have been donated by Vincentian NBA basketballer Adonal Foyle.
