Bequia ballers return from Trinidad tour

The president of the Bequia Basketball Association has described a recent tour to Trinidad as a “success and a wonderful experience for the young Bequia team.” Bequia beat the Trinidad and Tobago National Junior team 77 to 75 Friday May 6 at the Jean Pierre Sports Complex. {{more}}

Craig Sam who chalked up 30 points was the All-Stars’ leading player from a feature match during the opening of the Port of Spain North Zone Championships at which secretary general of the Caribbean Confederation, Sabrina Mitchell, gave a welcome address.

On Saturday, May 7, at the Maloney Indoor Arena in Arima, Maloney pacers defeated Bequia 59 to 66.

The following day 8 IPSC Warriors defeated Bequia 56 to 54 at the International School Indoor Arena

The contingent to Trinidad comprised 21 persons including 12 players, head coach Junior Sutton, manager Sabrina Mitchell, referee Shem Ollivierre trainer Anthony Frederick, executive member Anthony Tannis and supporters.
