Sion Hill to defend OECS championship
C & R Enterprises Sion Hill will carry the banner for St. Vincent and the Grenadines at the Eastern Caribbean Group of Companies Champion of Champions Club Netball competition in St. Kitts/Nevis from May 19-22.
The girls from the Hill go into the competition as favourites, on the basis of their triumph on home soil last year. {{more}}
Sion Hill made certain of representing this country in the 2006 edition, taking the Division One title last Wednesday night.
Sion Hill toppled last yearâs winners Maple in the tournamentâs decider.
Those trying to upset Sion Hillâs plans at the sub-regional tournament are Courts Eagles of Antigua/Barbuda,Elite Strikers of St.Lucia ,Cayon Globe Pacers of St.Kitts and Pace Setters of Nevis.
The tournament, into its 15th year, opens next Thursday night at the Netball Complex at Grove Park.
The Sion Hill team to Nevis includes Claudia Williams, captain, Michelle Wiseman, vice-captain, Cindy Lavia, Samantha Olliver, Sharn Fraser, Alicia Christopher, Joanna Christopher, Sandra Carrington, Marvette Collis, Curlan Francis and Cheryl Alexander.
Sylvia Clarke is manager, Joanne Ballantyne -coach, Lincoln Prescott assistant coach and Anthony Jack, team umpire.
