Ajuba One secures spot in cricket quarter final

The race for quarter final spots in the Vinlec North Leeward Senior Cricket tournament is gathering pace. Ajuba One of Spring Village guaranteed themselves a spot in the next round with a four-wicket win over Enforcers last Sunday.

The victory came through the efforts of Wallace Stapleton to some extent. He hit 27 as his team overtook their victory target following up on figures of 3 for 9 when Enforcers batted. {{more}}

Ajuba One reached 204 for 6 off 33 overs.

Michael Joseph 37 and David Porter 28 not out supported Stapleton in the run chase.

Verrol Snagg 40 and Ancel Hooper 37 were among the runs for Enforcers.

This weekend’s fixtures will see D’Affairs, the 2004 champion, seeking to get their points tally moving. They play rangers and Smokey in back to back encounters at the Petit Bordel Playing Field on Saturday and Sunday.

Eleven teams are taking part in the Vinlec North Leeward senior competition in two zones.
