She had the best bowling average of 5.84 which came from 13 wickets for 76 runs. And that has propelled Clea Hoyte to the Most Valuable Player title of the just concluded Cavalier’s National Women’s Cricket tournament. {{more}}

An accurate seam bowler, Hoyte was called up for possible selection to the West Indies team for the South Africa World Cup. Injury forced her out, but once recovered, she proved unstoppable.

Hoyte was one of the stalwarts of J. G. Tigress’ success at both the Knock Out and League titles. Her all-round ability was an asset and her crucial eighth wicket stand with Phernel Charles guided their team to an unlikely victory in the deciding encounter against United Survivors.

Hoyte’s teammate Jean Blucher, amassed the most runs, 166, including an unbeaten 82 against North Leeward.

Also on the awards list when the presentation ceremony comes off in September will be United Survivors’ Samantha Lynch. She piled up 161 from six innings and was undefeated three times for an average of 53.6. Lynch also had the highest individual score of 84.

Amanda Thorpe however with a total of 18, had the most wickets,. She was helped in her harvest with figures of 7 for 23 against Despers, including a hattrick.
