Ajuba One, Veterans win

Interest in the Vinlec North Leeward Cricket Tournament intensifies this weekend with two more matches. Troumaca United will feature in both those encounters against Smokey tomorrow Saturday 2 and Sunday April 3 against defending champion D’Affairs. Both games are scheduled for the newly refurbished Petit Bordel Playing field.{{more}}

Last weekend’s matches saw wins for Ajuba One and Cool Veterans.

Ajuba One settled a home battle when they outscored their younger village mates by 82 runs. Ajuba One piled up 276 in 41 overs. Trevor Clarke 49, David Porter 36 and Conroy Ryan 33 were the main contributors with the bat. Delroy Sam 3 for 52 was the pick of the Ajuba Two bowling.

They replied with 194 all out off 30 overs. Sherlon Chambers 69 not out was the backbone. Alfie Gould 4 for 36 was the chief wicket taker for Ajuba One.

Cool Veterans 241 off 33 overs, disposed of Young Strugglers by 203 runs. William ‘Kojah’ Anthony 69 and Charles ‘Owusu’ Burke 45 were among the runs for Veterans. They took eight overs to rout Young Strugglers for 38. Ian Matthews 5 for 15 and Joseph Providence 3 for 20 did the damage for Cool Veterans.
