Billingy called up

The list of players for selection to the Senior Women’s Cricket squad for the 2005 World Cup in Africa has been increased by two.
They are Melissa Billingy, the Vincentian who captured the most wickets in the just concluded Under-23 tournament and teenage pacer Kirbyina Alexander from Trinidad and Tobago. {{more}}
The additions were made following the tournament, the victory of which was retained by the Vincentians on home soil last Friday.
An 18-member Under-23 squad was also named. Four Vincentians were named in the Under-23 All-Star party. They are Greaves, Billingy, Jack and newcomer Terisha Lavia. Lavia, from the North Windward village of Sandy Bay, was named the tournament’s Most Promising Player. She received the President’s award.
The rest of the Under-23 squad is Jade Chadee, Anisa Mohammed, Kirbyina Alexander, Marissa Aguillera and Lee Ann Kirby (Trinidad and Tobago); Paulette Rowe, Chedean Nation, Stephanie Taylor and the tournament’s best wicketkeeper Tameka Sandiford (Jamaica); Afy Fletcher and Anisha Thomas (Grenada); Charlene Taitt and Tashura Bourne (Barbados); and Maria David (St. Lucia).
