Basketball bounces in Bequia

The Sixth Annual Bequia Zonal Tournament bounces off Saturday, July 17 at the Clive Tannis Hard Court. Thirteen teams will take part in the competition in three Divisions (Under-16, First and Second Division). March past of teams begins at 5.30 p.m. Addresses will be heard by a representative from the Ministry of Education, Youth and Sports, President of the SVG Basketball Federation, Atiba Williams, and President of the Bequia Association Sabrina Mitchell. {{more}}
Games will be played Wednesdays, Saturdays and Sundays commencing at 5:30 p.m. The tournament is expected to run until September 12, 2004.
Two games are scheduled for the opening night:
In the Second (A) Division; Warriaz will come up against Rising Stars 2.
The First Division (Premier) will see East Blazers and Rising Stars in action.
Forty-eight pairs of “And I” sneakers will be donated at the opening. A pair of sneakers will be given to every child registered to play in the Under-16 Division. These sneakers were donated by the “And I” Shoe Company and Jerry Simpson, an American homeowner in Spring, Bequia.
