Female basketballers off to Cuba

The National Lottery Authority has been a pillar of support for sports and culture since its formation here nearly 20 years ago.
And it lived up to its billing last Tuesday with a series of donations.
When the Caribbean Women’s Basketball Tournament comes off in Santiago, Cuba, June 10 to 18, St. Vincent and the Grenadines will be represented. And they will owe a debt of gratitude to the National Lottery Authority for their participation. {{more}}Last Tuesday, National Basketball Association treasurer Juno Woods, along with general secretary Sabrina Mitchell and coach Wayne Williams, received $15,000 from NLA sales and marketing manager Kumar Persaud.
The money is to help defray expenses entailed in the Caribbean championship. Should the Vincentian basketballers come in the top three, they will qualify for the Central American Championship carded for Guatemala, July 21 to 25.
