That tribute takes place when three members of the St. Vincent and the Grenadines Football Federation (SVGFF) attend FIFA’s Centennial Congress.
This concludes today in France. The trio is President St. Claire Leacock, First Vice-President Ian Sardine and Acting General Secretary Earl Bennett.
Leacock, head of the delegation, stated prior to their departure last Monday that his team will present an in-depth plan for this country’s football.
He also mentioned that they would meet with FIFA officials in key positions.
As part of FIFA’s centennial celebrations, an Order of Merit has been launched honouring persons who have contributed to the sport over the past 100 years.
St. Vincent and the Grenadines has submitted Elliot “Mori” Millington for the award.
Millington captained SVG at the Under-19 level in 1974, then the Senior National squad from 1978 to 1985, after which he became National coach in the early 1990s.
