Vincies squash BVI and St. Lucia

The hard work put in by the St. Vincent junior squash team this year, reaped the benefits when they collected six titles in the recently concluded OECS Junior Squash Championships 2004.
In the Boys Under-13 Division, Diarra Venner (SVG) stamped his authority to retain his OECS Under-13 title. Andrez Bascombe (SVG) placed second with newcomer Kele Miguel (SVG) third.{{more}}
In the Boys Under-15 Division, Joe Chapman (BVI) surrendered only one point in the tournament to emerge as champion. John-Henry Sweeney (LCA) battled through a tight five-game match to finish second over Joshua Veira (SVG).
Shane Slater (SVG) retained his Boys Under-17 title, outclassing his opponents Kai Toney (SVG), Bradley Glasgow (SVG) and Dominique Rivers (LCA) in the first round, semis and finals respectively.
Dominic Ollivierre (SVG) defeated compatriot Andrew Dasilva to claim the Boys Under-19 title as the two competitors in the age group.
In the Girls Under-17 combined Division, 12-year-old Sherina Slater retained the Under-13 title, competing valiantly against her opponents. Amber Glasgow continued her dominance in the OECS when she thrashed Aiko Roudette (SVG), Melissa Rivers (LCA), Sherina Slater (SVG) and Isis Gonsalves (SVG) to clinch both the Girls Under-15 and Under-17 Divisions. Her exceptional improvement earned her the Most Outstanding Player award, while Andrez Bascombe was voted as Best Sportsmanship by the players and coaches.
After two team play-off matches, the OECS unveiled its strongest-ever team for the 2004 Caribbean Junior Squash Championships in the Cayman Islands. The Boys team comprises Diarra Venner (SVG), Joe Chapman (BVI), Shane Slater (SVG), Dominique Rivers (LCA), Michael Bergasse (LCA) and Dominic Ollivierre (SVG). The Girls team comprises Sherina Slater (SVG), Aiko Roudette (SVG), Amber Glasgow (SVG) and Melissa Rivers (LCA). St. Lucians Christa Bonnett and Natasha George, who were unable to compete, have also been included pending their availability. Andrez Bascombe (SVG), John-Henry Sweeney (LCA) and Bradley Glasgow (SVG) have also been selected to compete in the Individual competition.
