Excel Tennis tournament climaxes this Sunday

The Excel Tennis Academy’s Capri Sun Independence senior tournament will climax on Sunday at the National Lottery’s tennis court.

Twenty persons participated in the group stage of the competition from which sixteen persons advanced into the knockout stage.

Sonny Williams is the top seeded player followed by the number two seeded and tournament organizer, Kebakjah King. Garfield Mayers is ranked number three and banker Ronald Veira rounds off the top four. At press time they were all still in the hunt for the top honour. {{more}}

An integral part of the tournament is the juniors section which runs during the day and is expected to continue for some time still. Over forty boys and girls are participating in under 10, 12, 14 and 16 competitions.

“We are glad that we could help the youths, help them evolve and develop them in the sport. That is the exciting part of this for us” said King, referring to himself and Excel’s Co- Director Samantha Goodluck.
