St Kitts/ Nevis GG extends condolences

THE GOVERNOR-GENERAL of St Kitts/Nevis has added his voice to many others in expressions of sorrow at the passing of Sir Frederick Ballantyne, former Governor-General of SVG, highlighting his commitment to the health of chidren, among other values.

Sir Tapley Seaton said he learned with deep regret at the passing of his exteemed colleague.

“,‘Freddie’ as we all knew him served with distinction from 2002 until his retirement on account of ill-health in 2019.

“He was a regular attendee at the Conferences of Governors-General and Presidents of the Caribbean and his opinion on all of our issues was valued,” Sir Tapley noted in his statement of condolences.

“He brought to our deliberations a sense of calm with the necessary passion indicating his commitment to the point of view which he was espousing.

“He was particularly committed to the health of our children and ensured access for such children

to the ongoing programme in St. Vincent and the Grenadines and beyond. His genuine friendship will be sorely missed by all of us,”stated the St Kitts/Nevis Head of State.

“On behalf of the Government and People of Saint Kitts and Nevis, I extend our condolences to Sir Frederick’s family, Her Excellency the Governor- General and the Government and People of St. Vincent and the Grenadines May his soul rest in peace”.
