Candice Sealey: Head of Sales and Marketing

Candice Sealey: Head of Sales and Marketing

29.FEB.08

Her first love was Tourism, hence her reason for pursuing and obtaining a 1st Class Honours Degree in International Tourism Management, Marketing and Spanish from the University of Brighton in the United Kingdom and working in the industry since she was 18, including just over two (2) years in Management at a 5 star resort, Hawks Cay Resort Marina and Spa, in Florida.{{more}}

However, Candice Sealey has made her mark in the Sales and Marketing area, having worked at Mintel International Group, London, U.K., as the International Business Development Manager for the U.K., Southern Europe and the Scandinavian markets and the Public Relations Executive for over three years. She also had the additional responsibility of training and developing the Sales and Marketing department. While there, she won, among other things, the ‘Business Development Award’ four times for obtaining over £50,000 in business across a quarter four times consecutively.

She is fluent in both Spanish and French and has an intermediate knowledge of Portuguese and Italian. Candice also holds Professional qualifications from the Chartered Institute of Marketing in the United Kingdom in Brand Management, Tourism Marketing, Project Management and Business Development, among others and is at the final stages of obtaining her Master’s Degree. She also has the designated letters ‘ACIM’ and such is a two steps from being a Chartered Marketer.

Candice has transferred her international experience into the Sales and Marketing department at SVGBC which she heads since September 2007 and has set about the re-branding of SVGBC, touching every aspect of the company in an effort to gain a larger clientele and improve the image of the Corporation.

Since taking up her role, Candice has generated more advertising for Ezee Radio, the Corporation’s newest brand, attracted greater public enthusiasm for the station, formed favourable business relationships with key clients and created a greater buzz on Hitz 103.7, particularly during the Christmas season, with programmes such as the Christmas Cook up, making it the number one Christmas station. In the future, she has lots planned, which would give SVGBC the competitive edge.

But Candice is not all work and no play. Since coming to SVG, she has been involved in carrying out Foreign Language tours for cruise ship arrivals, working on consultancy projects and is currently the Deputy Chairperson for the Publicity Committee for Earth Fest 2008, and has been recently appointed to the Carnival Development Corporation’s Marketing Committee. Traveling, reading, listening to music, movies, socializing and meeting people from different cultures have all been listed as part of her hobbies. She is also passionate about making a positive difference in other people’s lives and change in general. Her colleagues describe her as fun, always on the go and likes to debate.
