The traditional parade through the town, did not take place because of the rain, but all were still in good spirits as the school brought the curtains down on their successful week of activities.

The shortened week of activities which started on Monday with a flag raising ceremony, also included a house quiz, exhibition of arts and craft and national wear and a cultural show.

At Wednesday’s service the school was involved in songs of praise, scripture reading, singing of patriotic songs, and a short sermon, all performed by students and teachers from the school.

An Independence message, from Minister of Education Girlyn Miguel was read by school principal Yvette Bowen.

Similar activities took place throughout the nation, as Vincentians prepare to celebrate the 28th Independence anniversary, under the theme: “28 years as a nation, building a modern civilization.”
