Like a woman in the pangs of labour
You who from the bowels of the earth was forged
Gushed forth from the womb of the Caribbean Sea
To tumultuous groans as your head emerged from beneath blue waves and tranquil seas
HAIROUNA land of the Blessed.{{more}}

Scarlet rivers of molten rock with pungent fumes
Like amniotic fluid pronounce the imminent arrival
Of the fertile blackness that would later embrace the rich
greenery of your folded and majestic landscape
JOULOUCA land of Rainbows

When after millennia of seeming inertia
You welcomed your foster children
from the banks of the Orinoco
And from other far off places they came,
the plains of Mali to Inter-marry
From the watered soils of Europe they to came to bask in the beauty of you black sanded beaches
YOUROUMEI home of Chatoyer’s children

With a pure mother’s instinct
you allowed the neighbouring children
To suckle at your voluptuous breast
Expelling natures milk with a raucou burst of emotion
Nourishment from the mighty Soufriere
SAINT VINCENT land so beautiful

And through it all when your pores became clogged and over burdened
Rain bearing Winds from the East came
Like ah catharsis to purge and cleanse those who held sway over your body
Reminding all that you are still our genesis, the ultimate provider and you must be respected
HAIROUNA, JOULOUCA, YOUROUMEI, HOME OF THE BLESSED SAINT VINCENT, LAND SO BEAUTIFUL (c) reblronb 2009
