The Prime Minister rode into the Vermont valley after the ceremony to open the rebuilt clinic at Retreat had started.

Prime Minister Dr. Gonsalves’ use of the word nature was a direct taunt of the opposition NDP. Nigel Stephenson, the NDP’s candidate in South Leeward is a teacher popularly known as “Nature.”

According to Dr. Gonsalves, persons who support ‘Nature’ would in fact be voting for former Communications and Works Minister Othneil Sylvester.

Dr. Gonsalves outlined that the Sylvesters, owners of the land which was bought to provide recreational facilities for the area, were the ones responsible for getting Stephenson to run. He claimed that Sylvester was hoping to get back the land, or get more money for it.

“When yo young and you lose your nature that is a hell of a lot of thing,” Dr. Gonsalves stated.

“I told them I am going to sweat them out. When we done with them, they are not going to get one seat,” the Prime Minister stated.
