Election Date coming Independence Day?

Speaking to the people of the West Kingstown at the Largo Height playing field last Sunday night, Prime Minister Dr. Ralph Gonsalves made a bold prediction.

“I know that many of you want to vote and I know you are wandering when I am going to say get set, just have patience. Just have patience too when I say to you to go. We are ready you know, but I tell you I want the victory to be so historic that I want to see the NDP fall apart even further and to make sure Snaggy in the Southern Grenadines and Belmar in the Northern Grenadines help us to win a clean sweep, a historic victory for the Unity Labour Party in every single seat in St.Vincent and the Grenadines. {{more}}

“If they think they want to save one, they might want me to call it now but the way Belmar going, I giving him a little more time. I giving Snaggy a little more time.

Because there is not one single seat on the mainland that the NDP will get, they going to get licks worse than the last occasion.”

But time might just be running out for Belmar and Snagg. Speculations are rife that the Prime Minister intends to announce the date for the General Elections in less than two weeks time.

Rounding up his address at Largo Height, the Prime Minister invited the party faithful to come out in their numbers for what he called “a massive rally” on Independence evening, October 27 at “the birthplace.” He was referring to his home village of Colonarie in his North Central Windward constituency. Political pundits feel that the Prime Minister will announce the date for the poll at that time.
