Leacock going after Central Kingstown

“Tonight I give you a man who is for real. Let us take back Central Kingstown!”

There could not have been a fitter person to endorse St.Claire Leacock as the New Democratic Party’s (NDP) candidate for Central Kingstown than his daughter, Melissa.

At the Redemption Sharpes Playing Field last Saturday night, Leacock was indeed the man of the hour, as the NDP campaign train stopped with thousands of NDP supporters.{{more}}

Leacock, who came under fire by the Unity Labour Party during the week prior to his launching, said Saturday night was not a time for him to participate in mudslinging.

Paramount in his speech was the call for major reforms in the governance of St.Vincent and the Grenadines.

Leacock proposed a Representation of People’s Finance Act, a Bill that would allocate finances for projects in the communities without having to encounter the red tape of bureaucracy. He also called for the introduction of a Capital Card, which would loan monies to young people to make investments.

Leacock proposed that Victoria Park be handed over to the Football Federation and that the Bay Street waterfront be transformed into a promenade and Quarry into a cruise area.
