Justices of Peace donate deep freeze to prisons

TWO JUSTICES of the peace (JP’s), Curtis Shallow of Cane Grove and Yvette Browne, of Gomea on Tuesday, April 27, donated a deep freezer to the Superintendent of Prisons, Timothy Hazelwood to aid with the storage capacity at the institution.

Shallow said that he has been contributing to the welfare of the inmates since 2001, and “although they are incarcerated, they are first and foremost human beings that [have] rights and needs,” a release stated.

He promised to continue to assist in whatever way possible.

Browne said it is not the first time that she has provided assistance of the institution, and it wouldn’t be her last.

Accepting the deep freezer, superintendent prisons Timothy Hazelwood, expressed gratitude on behalf of the staff and inmates, amidst all that has been transpiring at this juncture, and said that the donation will enhance the storage capability at the prison and will go a long way in helping to meet the needs of the inmates.
