HIV, Covid-19 Rapid Testing, Counselling to mark World Aids Day on Tuesday

In commemoration of World Aids Day on Tuesday, December 1, HIV & Covid-19 Rapid Testing & Counselling Outreach will be made available to the public at the St Vincent Planned Parenthood Association Building in Paul’s Avenue, across from the Kingstown Magistrate’s Court and next door to Searchlight Newspaper from 9:00 am to 3:00 pm.

Tuesday’s testing and counselling is part of the week of activities being held by the Ministry of Health Wellness & the Environment through the National AIDS Secretariat from Monday November 23 – December 01 in commemoration of World Aids Day 2020.

HIV/Covid-19 Rapid Testing/Counselling will also be done at these places during the Week of Activities: Spring Village, Chateaubelair & Enhams Health Centres; Stubbs Poly-Clinic; Family Planning; Infectious Disease Clinic; National AIDS Secretariat; St Vincent Planned Parenthood Association.

World AIDS Day brings together people from around the world to raise awareness about HIV/AIDS and demonstrate International Solidarity in the face of a pandemic.

This year, the day will be celebrated under the international theme “Global Solidarity Resilient Services”.

Earlier this week, activities took place to raise awareness, and offer HIV and COVID-19 rapid testing at primary and secondary schools and the SVG Community College

Today, Friday November 27, there will be HIV & Covid-19 Rapid Testing & Counselling Outreach at the Buccament Poly-Clinic, as well as a presentation on HIV/AIDS at the SVG Community College.

On Monday, November 30, there will be a discussion with CARE SVG Support Group for Persons Living with HIV/AIDS at the National AIDS Secretariat Building.
