Police investigating death of 19-year-old man from Rose Place

Police are investigating the circumstances surrounding the death of Devonnie Belgreaves, a 19-year-old unemployed man of Rose Place, Kingstown.

A police report said Belgreaves was killed at about 9:06 pm on Sunday, November 8 at Rose Place, Kingstown.

“According to investigations, members of the Major Crime Unit (MCU) were informed of a shooting incident in Rose Place. On arrival at the scene, Belgreaves lifeless body was met with what appeared to be gunshot wounds.

“He was pronounced dead on the scene by the District Medical Officer (DMO) and the Coroner gave permission to remove the body. A post-mortem examination is expected to be conducted on the body,” the police report said.

Belgreaves’s death marks the 25th homicide for the year 2020.

Investigations are ongoing.
