Nurses at Paget Farm clinic advised to relocate to Port Elizabeth Hospital

NURSES AT THE Paget Farm Clinic in Bequia have been advised to relocate to the Port Elizabeth Hospital.

The Public Service Union (PSU) in a release dated October 19 said the nurses have been “complaining for the past two years about the compromised physical structure of the building.” According to the release, earth movements have shifted the foundation of the facility and, as a consequence, portions of the building have separated from each other.

“The matter was reported to BRAGSA and the Ministry of Health, Wellness and the Environment on more than one occasion, but no corrective action has been taken.

“The Public Sector Union is appalled at the frivolous way in which the matter has been treated. As a Union, we are very much concerned about the well-being and safety of our workers and would make every effort to safeguard them,” the release said.
