CXC reviewing results in specific subjects – MOE

The Ministry of Education in St Vincent and the Grenadines (SVG) is unable to give a detailed report on the students’ performances in the August 2020 exams of the Caribbean Examination Council (CXC) as the CXC is currently engaged in reviewing the results in specific subject disciplines.

This, according to a release from the Ministry of Education in St Vincent and the Grenadines.

Myccle Burke, permanent secretary in the Ministry said in the release that the preliminary results of the Caribbean Secondary Education Certificate Examinations (CSEC) and the Caribbean Advanced Proficiency Examinations (CAPE) were received on September 23, 2020, in St Vincent and the Grenadines.

“This year, 2425 candidates were registered for the CSEC examinations.  This number comprises 856 private candidates and 1569 school candidates. The number of students registered for the CAPE examinations was 572. Of this number, 37 were private candidates and 535 were candidates of the St. Vincent and the Grenadines Community College,” the release said.

The Ministry said a detailed report on the students’ performances could not be given at this time.

“The Caribbean Examination Council is currently engaged in reviewing the results in specific subject disciplines. Consequently a more detailed report on students’ performances will be communicated on completion of this review,” the release said.
