Two New Covid-19 Cases, Eight Recoveries

St Vincent and the Grenadines (SVG) on Wednesday recorded two new COVID-19 cases, with the receipt of results from the CARPHA Public Health Laboratory, a release from the National Emergency Management Organization (NEMO) said.

“One case arrived on the AA 945 flight on Saturday July 11, 2020, and is a contact of a positive case on that flight. The second case, detected on entry screening, arrived from St. Lucia on Sunday [July] 19, 2020. Both persons are in isolation, and the process of contact tracing and informing has commenced,” the release said.

“Eight persons were classified as recovered after the verification process. St Vincent and the Grenadines therefore currently has 15 active COVID-19 cases. A total of 52 COVID-19 cases have been recorded with 37 recoveries and zero deaths.

“The importance of strict compliance to all quarantine and isolation orders is paramount. It is only by complying with these orders and the use of masks in public spaces that the spread of COVID-19can be controlled in St. Vincent and the Grenadines,” the release ended.
