Trio summoned to court on charges of reckless driving
Three men whose driving was captured on video and broadcast on social media have been summoned by the police to answer charges of reckless driving.
“Consequent upon the circulation of a video on social media showing a number of motorists driving along the Arnos Vale and Sion Hill Public Road in what appeared to be in a reckless manner, the Traffic Department subsequently launched an investigation into the incident,” a release from the police said.
Following investigations, police have instituted proceedings by way of summons for reckless driving against 23-year-old Javon Jardine of Mt Pleasant, 21-year-old T J Deane of Prospect and 25-year-old J-Lani Douglas of Rockies.
The three men have been summoned to appear today, April 17, 2020 at the Kingstown Magistrate’s Court to answer the complaint, which is alleged to have taken place on April 11, 2020.
Head of the Traffic Department, Superintendent of Police, Kenneth John in the release advised all motorists to drive with caution and exercise due care and attention at all times.
“Superintendent John further advised that all acts of reckless and dangerous driving would be prosecuted according to law.”
