Overseas consulates announce special COVID-19 measures

THE CONSULATES and missions of St Vincent and the Grenadines in New York, Toronto and London have taken various measures in response to the the COVID-19 pandemic.

The consulate in New York, United States was closed on March 18 until further notice. However, a system of providing Emergency Travel Documents via e-mail has been implemented and, all processing of passport applications will be done via mail. All new applicants will be required to pay for courier mail (FedEx) delivery as in-person services are suspended. The consulate in Toronto, Canada is also closed. Effective March 17, that office will process applications for passports by mail only. Emergency passports will not be issued until further advised. Applicants are asked to call 647 967 3480 for emergencies.

The SVG High Commission in London, United Kingdom is now operating at reduced service for Consular and welfare matters and persons are asked not to visit the Mission during the period of the Covid-19 pandemic until further notice.

All passport and other consular face to face appointments are currently suspended.

For passports, travel documents and Consular advice persons are required to send a message to the SVG High Commission with their name, telephone number, postal address, email address and the nature of their enquiry.

Applications for Passports and delivery of Passports may take longer than usual.

Processed Passports will not be available for collection; these will be sent by Special Delivery.

All payments must be made by credit card or Bank Transfer.
