Vincentian returns from China, isolated for precautionary purposes

A Vincentian National who was in China has returned home and is currently under quarantine.

A release from the Ministry of Health said that this person is in good health and shows no signs of fever, cough or any other symptom associated with coronavirus.

“The isolation is purely a precautionary measure,” the release said.

It also said that this individual has reported no contact with anyone with the novel coronavirus infection.

However, this person will be monitored on a daily basis by health professionals for 14 days, in keeping with protocols for persons entering the country with a travel history to mainland China.

“The Ministry of Health, Wellness and the Environment takes this opportunity to remind the public that: non-essential travel to China is currently not recommended; all persons arriving in St. Vincent and the Grenadines having been in mainland China in the last 14 days will be quarantined,” the release said.

And the ministry is committed to protecting the health of the nation.
