EDITOR: We have all noticed the large number of online jokes about the suffering married couples who have been forced into quarantine together. Married women are generally the butt of these jokes, with husbands being presented as victims of arrest and detention. Are these jokes indicative of art imitating life? Are they suggesting that marriages more often than not result in a less than friendly relationship between couples? Are these jokes suggestive of sex-less marriages? Are these jokes in anyway related to the already reported increase in domestic violence? Do these jokes have anything to do with the heightened divorce rate in Wuhan, China?
