Is SVG an independent country?

EDITOR: We are about to celebrate our 40th anniversary of Independence, and I would like to ask these questions:

1. What have we achieved since we gained our Independence from Britain?

2. Why is it that we don’t have a statue of our National Bird Amazona Guildingii?

3. When will we change the national dish from our slave master?

4. How can we be an Independent country and we are still under the laws of England?

5. Are we a proud nation?
