The fear of God

Editor, HAVE WE as a people lost the fear of God in our lives? Blessed is the nation whose God is the LORD, the people he chose for his inheritance. Psalm 33: 12.

The many criminal activities are as a result of many not having the fear of God. For if we do then the respect and love for each other would be demonstrated. We have a radio station that does not play anything spiritual regardless to the occasion. It doesn’t allow any religious broadcast to air on its station. While at the same time, they are one of the stations that are always critical, and love to ascribe blame for the crimes and other form of violence. Then why do we wonder that many do not have the fear of GOD. Of course this radio station is widely listened to.

Surely, we have lost the fear of God in our lives. The Internet with its many negatives, the pornographic sites and the music that promotes bad boy behaviour has become the norm in society. No wonder we are experiencing so much crime and violence. For when the fear of God is missing, Satan takes control. Then no wonder some folks do not know how to control their anger. We are so quick to react violently. We are so quick to display badman mentality.

Our people no longer go to church and Sunday schools as they use to, but instead choose entertainment and gangs in some cases. Of course when there is no spiritual guidance then our people would wander in the wrong path. Having said that, we know that there are many godly persons who stand in places of prominence such as Pastors, Leaders and even parents or guardians. They do give much godly guidance.

We need to let this nation be blessed by letting God be the LORD. I call upon us as a people to give our hearts to Jesus Christ. I call upon us to return to God. It is time that our radio personalities in some cases have a fear of God, for many look up to them and when there is nothing that talks about Christ on their radio station, then this adds to the young people having no fear of God in their lives. We all have a role to play in charting the course of our people. In this respect I would like to personally congratulate Donnie Collins who on many occasions would refer to spiritual things as a means of solutions to our problem.
