Christmas

EDITOR: In a few days time we would celebrate the birth of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ. Yes, we are aware that is some debate as to the date of His birth and if we should celebrate His birth or not? However, it can never deny that He was born and became the Saviour of the world.

I must congratulate Michael Peters and his committee along with other communities that have kept the traditional carols and he religious part alive. For when we listen to the type of songs that are being played on most radio stations and also in vans one would think it is carnival rather than remembering the birth of Christ.

When one listens to some of the artiste we would think it is not about the birth of Christ, but rather, just entertainment. In the meantime, I must express my great admiration for National Broadcasting Corporation (NBC) radio. It is indeed one of the best radio stations in this country. Their programme is also educational and entertaining. They are one of the radio stations you can listen to and you will know that it is Christmas. Because they also play carols and make the effort to keep the tradition of Christmas alive and keep the message of Christmas alive.

Let me take this opportunity to wish everyone a blessed Christmas. Let us remember it is the birth of Christ and not a time for partying and carnival. For, when we do the latter we are defeating the purpose of His birth.
